IN THE COUNTRY
Last Tuesday, I went to the heart of the British countryside to photograph a secret celebrity at home. We made a long car journey there with Steph, who was kind enough to assist me, and Laurey, who did both make up and hair. Can't wait to post more, but I will have to wait until the pictures come out in early March. Those 2 days were absolutely magical.

INSPIRATON FOR TODAY
This image of Josephine de la Baume by Venetia Scott is from one of the recent issues of POP magazine. How amazing is it to see real girls with real curves in the media today? With so much androgyny and surgery-enhanced bodies that we see in fashion magazines and MTV, this is just really refreshing! To be continued.

FRONT OF HOUSE?
Hmm, I can totally feel a new addition coming to my fashion week diaries...

I LOVE PARIS IN THE SPRING TIME
Well, that was Ella Fitzgerald's line, I do love Paris any time of the year. Really want to visit it again this Winter.

RED DESERT
Another movie with superb images. It's more the overly-saturated colours and the mist (which seems to follow Monica Vitti's tormented character throughout the whole film) than the plot which seem to create atmosphere here.
She's so beautiful that it's insane!

MOVIE TIME
It's so cold outside that I'm really enjoying re-watching some of the films I find inspiring. Today I once again saw "The Unbearable Lightness Being" - a beautiful story about love and a search for freedom set during the Soviet invasion of Prague.
And yes, I know everyone argues that the book is better, but the situations are sometimes so funnily relatable and the acting spot on.

LOVE BLOGGING
Vice's Love Blogging videos are not only an insight into some of fashion's most interesting bloggers, but they're also really beautifully shot. Featuring comments from insiders such as Richard Nicoll, Celestine Cooney or Lulu Kennedy, they're all intimate and girly, without being too fashiony or saccharine-sweet.

DOES PRAGUE STILL LOOK LIKE THAT?
I really hope so! Around eight years ago, I did an internship at an advertising agency. I remember them writing quite a fat cheque for using this song in a phone ad. More recently I discovered the video.
And again it kind of reminds me of Poland that's disappearing. Oh the sentiments! The scene with the saxophone in the graveyard is priceless.

JOSS MCKINLEY
Joss McKinley's images are all photographs, but they have a painterly quality that's reminiscent of Caspar David Friedrich's landscapes or Zurbaran's still lives. They are also part of National Portrait Gallery's permanent collection.

KONRAD PAROL OUTTAKES
Here are two outtakes from the shoot I did with Konrad Parol last summer for DazedDigital. We found this dilapidated courtyard in the centre of Warsaw after almost an hour of searching. It's a shame that such places are constantly disappearing.

BROKEN AND MENDED
My 35mm camera literally broke into pieces at the start of Mark Fast's show. Luckily, I managed to pick up all the pieces from the floor and later repair it, and even more luckily, half of the roll worked out! Here are some of the pictures.

FALL IS MY FAVOURITE TIME OF THE YEAR
All around the world, Halloween is the time of festivities. In Poland on the other hand, the 1st of November is the day of "contemplation". It's the day when you to the graveyards with your family to burn candles and place flowers on the graves of those who passed away. They look very beautiful sometimes.

MARY ELLEN MARK
Mary Ellen Mark started out as a photographer on sets of movies such as Fellini's "Satyricon" or Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now". It was her later work however, such as the tender images of social outcasts (prostitutes / transvestites / circus troupes) that really established her as one of the greatest portrait photographers of our time. Her style kind of reminds me of Sally Mann's, but while Mann is known for her "romanticized" depictions of growing up, Mark is a lot more raw.

CHARLIE LE MINDU FOR TRANOI MAGAZINE
In the new Tranoi magazine, you can also find a portrait of designer Charlie Le Mindu, which I shot only a week before his London show. Back then, his flat was packed full of pink hair extensions and leopard print fur. Who would have thought that he would pair with loads of nudity, which brought a genius twist to the show...
Here's my favourite detail from Charlie's flat/workspace - his window sill.

MY ONLY REGRET
... is: why didn't I take pictures of Meadham Kirchoff's new collection backstage? Surely, when I thought about it at the time, my first thought was: "there is no way they will show us something as crazy and artistic as their last collection again. NO WAY." And yet they did! I'm really a huge fan of Jason Farrer's manga-meets-Courtney Love styling.

FANTASIA'S PSYCHEDELIA
Disney's 'Fantasia' is a set of eight animated segments that are accompanied by classical tracks from composers such as Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky and Bach. I remember watching it as a child and thinking it was really boring... These days, however, I find it very visually stimulating and calming. It's kind of hard to believe that a film so fantastically edited (and slightly trippy sometimes!) was done in the 1940s.

CHADWICK TYLER
Chadwick Tyler has shot for the likes of V, Dazed & Confused and The Last Magazine. He's also the author of the current Levi's campaign. I love the movement & freedom of expression in his images.

KEI KAGAMI AT WORK
I took some snaps of artist/fashion designer Kei Kagami for TRANOI magazine that comes out with the TRANOI trade show in Paris. He was kind enough to show me step-by-step how he makes his resin-coated shoes!
