MARIE HILL PICTURE IN SURFACE CHINA AUG 09

My friend Lucia Liu from It was Looping has just given me a copy of Surface China. It has one of my pictures of Marie Hill's work, which I photographed at the St. Martin's show in June. It's just a shame that I can't understand Chinese, because there are plenty of things inside I want to read!

GOING MAINSTREAM...

I don't know who's Luciachrissyofficial, but she has made a little slide show of my pictures and put it on youtube. So cute!!

MONTREAL FASHION WEEK

Montreal in Canada is the home of world-famous circus troupe Cirque du Soleil, which probably goes to explain the amount of theatricality that fuelled the shows at the 17th Montreal Fashion Week, organized by Sensation Mode...

GAGA OH-LA-LA

Back in June I took some behind the scenes photos at the filming of Kathryn Ferguson's Dazed Digital film with Lady Gaga. She was rehearsing before Glastonbury wearing a pick of progressive London designers, including David Koma, Giles, Fred Butler and Petra Storrs. Click here to see the whole feature and more pictures and the video.

DEADMAU5

My friend Hannah Morrison, who studied with me at Central St. Martin's has just designed t shirts for electronic music producer Deadmau5. Here's a sneaky preview of the look book I shot for them yesterday.

BRYAN FERRY

I usually hate to use the word 'chic', but yes, there is something undeniably chic about Bryan Ferry and his videos from the 1980s. No smoke. No big hair. No bling and no hideous bandannas. My judgment is probably even more biased by the fact Slave to Love was featured in some of the most cult-ish films of the last three decades, including 9 1/2 Weeks and Polanski's Bitter Moon.

MY TRIP TO MONTREAL

Last week I went to Montreal to cover Montreal Fashion Week, organized by Sensation Mode. The report is still to follow, but in the meantime, here are some of the highlights of my one-week stay.

Faded murals in parking lots

Wet hair and bodycon line up at Denis Gagnon

And the lovely Brigitte Chartrand and her dog from reborn. You should check out their online store - they have a great selection of clothes from Acne, Alexander Wang, Rick Owens and Rad Hourani.

MARK FAST SS10

A few more images I managed to snap backstage at Mark Fast. His work is always a dream to photograph. Unfortunately I didn't manage to catch all the outfits, as I was chucked out along with another photographer right before Mary Katrantzou's show (!).

And here's the knitwear genius himself with Harley Morley (centre), one of his "plus-size" models.

A SONG FOR TODAY

Pillow Talk by Quiet Village

Not really familiar with the rest of their music, but the mood and beat of this track are amazing.

LAST NIGHT ON SHOWSTUDIO.COM

Millions of Lady Gaga fans have stormed the website for the premiere of her single "Bad Romance". The song was featured in Alexander McQueen's SS10 show, which for the first time in McQueen's history, was broadcasted to a large audience live. Needless to say, too many Gaga and fashion fanatics have caused the server to crash.

A few people told me that my pictures from AW look like stills from a weird sci-fi movie. Hmmm.

NEW PICTURE IN B MAGAZINE

So one of my pictures is now published in b magazine, which is a beautiful magazine produced by the boys from b store, Saville Row. It's one of the out-takes from the Lou Dalton show in February.

DANIEL SANNWALD'S BLOG

My very talented friend Daniel Sannwald has just started his blog.

One of Daniel's pictures...

And THE blog...

"I got in Japan a nice, nice piece of cinnamon."
